I started like so many other artists, drawing for fun as a child. I have memories of drawing at the kitchen table with my mother (also a skilled artist, and a draftswoman by trade). As an adult I began painting in watercolor, focusing mainly on florals and still life, but I have recently found a more natural home for myself in soft pastel. I love its versatility and immediacy and look forward to exploring its many possibilities as a medium.

While I still enjoy still life and floral subjects, my move to Pennsylvania ignited a love for the landscape, with my favorite muse being Wissahickon Valley Park near my home in Philadelphia. I am enchanted every day by its meandering paths and the intimate scenes revealed by the light filtering through the trees. My desire as an artist is to convey that same sense of awe and wonder to my viewers.

I have studied under master pastelists Marla Baggetta and Bethany Fields, and I am a member of the Philadelphia Pastel Society and an Associate Member of the Pastel Society of America.
