I am a self-taught painter. I was born and raised in South Korea and came to the US to study in my mid-twenties. I finished my studies, married, and have been working as a Social Worker for more than a decade.
My artistic instincts were ignited in 2018 while observing an Art Class at the Senior Activity Center where I worked. I bought all the necessary materials and tools and started painting like I’ve ever been doing. In my late-forties, I embarked on a new life journey! Since then, I find excitement and joy whenever I grab my brush.
In December 2019, I prayed to God saying, “Father, if you let me win as one of the 15 featured artists in the monthly contest at Daily Paintworks, I will consider it as your sure sign to let me start my art business. Even if you don’t, I will still continue to paint to give joy, comfort and solace to people who see my paintings.” I have failed four times for one and a half years. Finally, in the August 2021 contest, I won the 2nd place, which is more than I’d hoped for!!!!! When I checked the news in the email in the morning, I cried hard thanking God for His answer.
I hope whoever visits my page finds what I find in the process of making my paintings.
