Welcome to my art gallery! Thanks for taking the time to stop and look.

I love to paint! Period. Although I won the annual art award my senior year in high school (long, so long ago), "life" got in the way of my pursuing an art career. When I turned 60 I just decided to start; to learn as best I could. I am a member of the "It's never to late to start club".

I work in oils, mostly, and sometimes acrylics or gouache. My choice of subject matter is as broad as are the sizes I paint: animals, florals, still life, oceans, skies…..if it inspires me, I paint it.

Introduced to the Art of the Miniature several years ago, I have fallen in love with the genre.  The rules are that the art must be no larger than 25 square inches and the subjects must be no larger than 1/6 life size (which is what makes them different than simply small paintings).  They are judged for detail, composition, and must pass muster under a magnifying glass!  In fact, one needs a magnifying glass to paint them.

Pet portrait commissions as well as personalized commissions of other subjects make up a good portion of my studio time, as well as painting for six or seven art shows every year.

I have been juried into membership in the following organizations:

Oil Painters of America

MPSGS - Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of DC

IGOR - International Guild of Realism

I also maintain non-juried memberships with The Miniature Art Association of Florida, the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society and my local Montgomery Art Association.
