Creativity has been a part of Dawn’s life from her earliest memories. She loved drawing and coloring as a child, with a fond moment of winning “Most Artistic” as a kindergartner.
Growing up in a small Atlanta suburb, her father worked hard to support the family, overcoming learning disabilities and illiteracy. His work ethic and resilience fostered Dawn’s goal of being the first in her family to go to college.
Her early adult years were busy with putting herself through college, helping support family and building her career. She made time to continue to learn, including seeking opportunities to study watercolor and oil painting. Today, she is a corporate executive and self-taught painter. Her craft is influenced and honed by professional artists whom have become mentors and friends. She attended a recent art course in Italy that ignited her decision to paint with a purpose.
Her passion is to create paintings inspired by beautiful florals, still life, landscapes and moments in time while traveling. Dawn’s desire to give back is as strong as her desire to paint. Proceeds from each piece are provided to a spectrum of small, local fundraisers to large, natural disaster relief efforts. She further seeks opportunities to support organizations promoting literacy as well as learning disability foundations.
Pieces are Unframed unless otherwise noted. Commissions considered by request.
