I love the way light and shadow play on surfaces; how they convey temperature, model shape, and evoke feeling.
I've been drawing since I was very young--I was that toddler who drew on the wall with her mother's red lipstick--and as the years passed I doodled on nearly all the scratch pads in the house, and spent hours in my room drawing whatever came into my head. After eagerly taking every art class possible in junior high and high school, I had the privilege of attending UCLA, where I came to love painting and eventually find my artistic voice.
As with many people, life has taken me on a winding journey: through graphic design and Art Deco tile-making, and as far away from the West Coast as Hawaii and Texas. Through it all, the desire to paint pulled at my heart. Now, back home in California, I'm able to set aside time to do just that--it's an amazing feeling to have brush in hand once again.
I'm pleased and privileged you have taken time to learn a bit about me and look at my work.
