It’s all about the light, right? The play of light , rich color and interesting movement of strokes are what make painting a continual challenge and constant pleasure for me. I paint nearly every day and enjoy painting all things! Animals, birds, florals, and lately landscapes provide a never ending resource of subjects. I paint to satisfy an innate desire to create something beautiful that will bring joy to the viewer.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest surrounded by mountains and water, the beach has always been a source of inspiration. My ancestors homesteaded on Whidbey Island, where my best childhood memories took place at my Great Grandma's beach cottage. , I am so blessed to live a 15 minute boat ride away from there at Tulare Beach outside of Marysville, Wa. The beach still feeds my soul and I get most of my creative ideas there.
My commission works have included pets, children, and even boats!
I studied art in college as a minor and have studied with some great women artists: Lianna Bennet, Cheri Christiansen (while in Tuscany), and currently with Kelli Folsom (she's inspired my love of painting flowers and still life).
My work has been displayed in a different local galleries: The Guilded Gallery, Gallery North, The Schack, and ParkLane Gallery .Prints and cards are available at Jana's Favorite Finds in Everett, Wa. As well as on my website.
Thanks for stopping by . I appreciate your time taken to browse my work. I hope it gives you a smile and inspiration to collect! It is the absolute best when someone loves a piece so much they make it theirs.
