Wilmington, NC artist Clair Hartmann grew up in Jacksonville, Florida
and studied painting and graphic design at the Art Institute of Fort
Lauderdale.
She was inspired and encouraged at an early age by
her uncle Jimmy Lueders; an accomplished painter who taught at the
Pennsylvania Fine Arts Academy.
After years of owning her own
graphic design studio she decided to follow her passion and paint full
time. In June 2007, she started painting on a daily basis as part of the
"Painting-A-Day" movement. To showcase her works, she started an
on-line blog in December of 2008, where she posts her small format
paintings, as well as video clips showing some of her works as they
progress.
Clair's works and articles about her, have appeared in
numerous publications. Most recently in Modern Dog Magazine. She is
represented in a number of galleries, and in the private collections of
individuals and institutions; both nationally, and internationally.
She has three books published featuring her artwork.
