I have been drawing and painting since childhood. I began my artistic career in Deland, FL ; in a warehouse full of furniture. I learned to paint on cupboards, birdhouses, desks and pool tables. I also had the opportunity to paint murals. This was an incredible experience for growth in my work.
In 2010 I illustrated my first children's book, "The Giraffe Who Walked to Paris" written by Dirk Wales. A few years later I illustrated a second children's book, " The Adventures of Peanut and Penelope" authored by Dr.Winnie King.
I have since then shared my love for art and creativity with children by teaching classes in the South Lake Art League gallery in Clermont, FL . For five years I laughed with them and showed them they were capable of much more than they realized! I now live in North Carolina with my husband and family.
Inspired by new surroundings and my passion for the pastel medium, I strive to paint daily. My goal is to capture the spirit of each subject. I accentuate details while allowing color and light to bring life to my paintings. I'm still growing as an artist and continue to be inspired by the Masters!
