Belinda and her husband retired and moved from the hectic metropolis of Washington DC area to New Bern, NC. She retired as a civil servant and cartographer from the US Army. Belinda studied at George Mason University and University of New Mexico and focused her studies on Geology and Geography. She also studied surface design at the Corcoran School of Art (Washington D.C.) and has taken many art classes which include the following artists: Joseph McGurl, Mike Rooney, Kathie George, Robert Burridge, Ken Muenzenmayer and Ryan Fox.
After retiring moving to New Bern, the beauty of the coastal area of eastern North Carolina invigorated her love to express God's beauty in painting and she has and is devoting most of her time to the endeavor.
Her favorite subjects to paint are still lifes and elements in nature.
Belinda is a member of the CAGS (Community Artists Gallery) (New Bern, NC) of which she also has a working studio there, Coastal Carolina’s Plein Air Group, and Twin Rivers Art Association.
Her media has been acrylics and is currently watercolor (poured), batik watercolor and gouache.
Belinda‘s most recent accomplishment was being selected the winner of the 2016 New Bern Mumfest competition, which made her painting the official artwork for the New Bern Mumfest 2017.
