This impressionistic horse painting resembles a cosmic cloud or Nebula, but not on purpose. While researching for a title to this piece, I discovered that my painting resembled a Nebula called, Horsehead Nebula and it looks remarkably similar to this painting. When I painted the background to this painting I was not intending on using it as the beginnings to a horse painting. Initially, I wanted it to be more realistic, but as I got on with the painting, it became more and more celestial looking so I went with it. That seems to be the best approach for me - to just go with the flow. Watercolor is a wild medium that can't be controlled, only directed; which makes it a perfect media to use with my horses.The original is sold. Prints are available here.
