This is another of my "I'm here to eat,
then you can paint us" backyard birds. The warm winter sun settles
on them like a blanket as they glide back and forth from the bushes to the
feeder. I try not to disturb them as I sketch and photograph; sometimes my
patience is rewarded with an image I can translate into a painting. I
silently thank them, and hope that I will get a glimpse of another fleeting
moment tomorrow.
