I painted this plein air painting in Solomon's Island during the Solomon's Plein Air Festival in September. There were so many sail boats and docks. There was no end to subjects. I was really drawn to the glow of the water here and the weathered texture of the boat house on the edge. It was a really hot day and I was in a race with the shade. But, I was able to finish before being in full sun. Or, you could say that I stopped when the full sun hit, which is probably more accurate.
