I love my neighborhood. Even in winter, when snow lies deep on the ground and needs to be shoveled to and fro on a regular basis, it is heart-stoppingly beautiful. This scene greeted me when I looked out one evening as the sun set in winter. Our days are only a few hours long in deep winter, so we get outside as often as we can. But when we have to draw in, we can still appreciate the beauty that lies just outside our doors. Snow lying deep and blue and violet. An explosion of color in the sky. Glistening light reflected off of brick walks. It's all beautiful. I love my neighborhood.
