As a morel mushroom hunter, a forest floor covered in trilliums is heaven for me. No, no. It's not that you should expect to find morels with trilliums, but you might if the trees and soil are right. My goal with this painting was to catch the sunlight on the leaves, petals, branches, and even in the air. With most of my work, sunlight is the star. With this piece, those trilliums insisted on playing the lead, and the sunrise agreed to be the co-star. If you appreciate the month of May and you'd appreciate a little jolt of springtime on your wall, then this painting could come live with you!
