I love the southwest Sonoran Desert. There is a trail system that I walk and spend hours in. The surrounding desert creates a deep joyful feeling for me and I paint the joy. During the day the cloudless skies go on forever and the sun hits everything so intensely that color is washed out. When I am lucky enough to spot a black-tailed jackrabbit I get so excited. They are powerful and comical at the same time. Almost completely silent they leap through the desert cacti, prickly pear and vegetation.
