While rummaging around for items to use in a still life, I came across my mother's collection of skeleton keys, plus a celluloid tray. Rather than paint several of the keys loose, I decided I liked them all huddled in a mass in their little box, allowing only one to "escape". I used the intricate fabric to add some color and offset the stark surface of the tray.
