The hair on cat faces goes in so many directions and their eyes are rather unique. In this piece I was really working on realism and the hair patterns. This piece was created on Ampersand scratchboard with various sharp tools. I scratch away the top layer of black India ink to varying degrees, then add colored India ink and scratch again. This process is done several times to create depth of color. It was sealed with several layers of satin varnish for protection and so it doesn't need to be under glass.
